Introduction to gateways
A gateway is a server that connects the SIP network with the PSTN. The gateway
handles the negotiation for calls between PRI signaling and SIP signalling. The
Gateways menu option is used by an administrator to provision a PRI gateway or
the gateway’s translations. The data submitted is validated by the provisioning
system before being stored in the database.
The data entered in the SIP Provisioning Client should match the data entered of
the gateway itself done in the System Management Console. For the PRI
Gateway, the following items need to match:
